Gävle Taxi is the first in Sweden to operate the Tesla Model S electric eco-car as a taxi. Pointguard has now supplied an equally modern and intelligent digital taxi light – the iToplight D-100 – for this ultra-modern taxi. The sign is programmed to automatically show the taxi's status on the built-in display, and Gävle Taxi will also control the light with Pointguard's Android app.
The Tesla Model S has a retractable panoramic glass roof, which made it a challenge for Pointguard to find a suitable mount for the taxi light and school sign. However, we managed to customise a roof arch on which both the taxi light and the school sign can be mounted without getting in the way of the glass roof when it is raised.
We wish Gävle Taxi good luck with its new electric eco-taxi and hope to see more successful combinations of smart cars and smart taxi lights on the roads in the future.
